El Día de la Tierra 2023 nos exhorta a "invertir en nuestro planeta"

By Ninian Carter

April 22, 2023 - Cerca de mil millones de personas celebran todos los años el Día de la Tierra el 22 de abril en más de 190 países.

Earth Day is an annual event that occurs on April 22, with the purpose of highlighting and supporting environmental protections.

It was first held in the United States in 1970, a year after an oil spill off the coast of Santa Barbara killed more than 10,000 seabirds, dolphins, seals and sea lions.

It is widely recognised as the anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement.

Similar to last year, the 2023 theme will be “Invest in Our Planet” – a day to mark the importance of dedicating time, resources and energy to solving the climate crisis.

The Climate Coalition says the best way to get involved is to organise climate and nature events in your community and contact local decision-makers, asking for progress on initiatives to mitigate climate change.
