NASA lanza su primera misión Artemis

By Jordi Bou

August 29, 2022 - Se espera que la NASA lance su misión Artemis I, el primer paso del plan de la agencia espacial para volver a enviar humanos a la superficie lunar luego de cinco décadas.

Artemis 1 will mark the debut of NASA's Space Launch System (SLS) megarocket, which will send an uncrewed Orion capsule to lunar orbit. Orion will spend six weeks in space, finally returning to Earth in an ocean splashdown on Oct 10.

If successful, Artemis II is scheduled to blast-off in May 2024, with a crew of four astronauts, on a lunar-flyby-return-to-Earth test mission.

Assuming success of Artemis II, Artemis III is set to land two people on the Moon in 2025, and keep them there for a week – making it the the first human moon landing since Apollo 17 in 1972 (53 years ago).
