July 11, 2022 - El sucesor del primer ministro británico Boris Johnson será elegido por los miembros del Partido Conservador, que reducirán la lista de candidatos hasta un desempate final entre dos contendientes.

Candidates putting themselves forward for the leadership must be nominated by other Conservative members of parliament, or MPs. How many nominations they require will be set out by the committee in charge of running the contest, according to Reuters.

Conservative MPs then hold several rounds of votes to whittle down the field. This process is repeated until there are two candidates remaining. The final two are then put to a postal ballot of the wider Conservative Party membership, with the winner named the new leader.
