Inundaciones letales afectan el mayor puerto de Canadá

By Jordi Bou

November 17, 2021 - Una tormenta descrita como un evento único en un siglo ha cortado el acceso carretero y ferroviario alrededor de la ciudad canadiense de Vancouver

At least one person has been killed and several more are feared dead after a huge storm hit the Pacific north-west, destroying highways and leaving tens of thousands of people in Canada and the U.S. without power.

Canada's largest port in the city of Vancouver has been suspended, and the shipments of food,
fuel and other goods have been halted.

The port moves about $440m worth of cargo every day, according to Reuters news agency. Fuel pipelines in the area have also been turned off as a precaution.

It comes after British Columbia suffered a record high heat wave over the summer that killed more than 500 people, and wildfires that destroyed an entire town.
