Recorrido del Maratón de Chicago 2021
October 10, 2021 - La favorita local Sara Hall busca romper el récord femenino estadounidense de 2:19:36, que se ha mantenido desde 2006, en el Maratón de Chicago.
The United States has produced only a single sub-2:20 female marathon runner to date, when Deena Kastor won the London Marathon in 2006 in a time of 2:19:36.
Since then 34 athletes – 26 of them from Kenya and Ethiopia – have recorded 59 performances faster than 2:20, but no other American woman has yet managed to cross the barrier.
Hall, 38, has publicly declared her intention to go for the U.S. record at this year’s Chicago Marathon. The course is a fast one – Brigid Kosgei of Kenya ran 2:14:04 here in 2019, setting a new world record.
The World Marathon Majors comprises six races globally: London, Boston, Berlin, Chicago, New York, with Tokyo promoted to major status most recently, in 2013.
