Eventos programados para junio 2021 - Interactivo

By Jordi Bou

Events include:
June, EU: A Europe-wide “vaccine passport” will provide evidence of a vaccine against Covid-19, a recent test, or a recovery from the virus, easing travel conditions within the bloc in time for the vital summer holiday season.

June, India: The state of Telangana starts testing drones to deliver Covid-19 vaccines to isolated communities amid the deadly surge in coronavirus cases, aiming to ferry 10,000 vials to primary health centres.

Jun 11-13, UK: G7 leaders, plus guest nations Australia, India, South Korea and South Africa, meet for their first major in-person summit in almost two years. The meeting marks U.S. President Joe Biden’s first big moment on the world stage.

Jun 11, Europe: The UEFA European Championships, postponed for a year by Covid-19, get underway, hosted in 11 cities. Turkey and Italy play the opening match in Rome, and London’s Wembley Stadium stages the final on July 11.

Jun 14, Belgium: A NATO summit aims to repair transatlantic ties amid growing tensions with Russia. After a bruising four years of Donald Trump, who called the Western alliance “obsolete”, Joe Biden is seeking to renew close cooperation with the other 29 NATO allies.

Jun 18, Iran: A showdown between two political heavy-hitters, the ultraconservative Ebrahim Raisi and the more moderate conservative Ali Larijani, is expected to dominate the presidential election.

June 21, Ethiopia: Twice-delayed national and regional elections will go ahead, but security and logistical problems, plus ongoing outbreaks of unrest, will delay voting still further in parts of Africa’s second most populous nation.

Jun 23, UK: The racquet Roger Federer used in his epic tussle against Rafael Nadal at Wimbledon in 2007, and the shoes he wore to complete his career Grand Slam at Roland Garros in 2009, are star items auctioned in London to raise money for his educational projects.
