Oscares 2021: Nomadland gana como mejor cinta
April 26, 2021 - “Nomadland” ganó el Oscar a Mejor Filme. La cinta de Searchlight Pictures, basada en un libro de 2017 de Jessica Bruder, narra la historia de una viuda, que ha sido despedida, en un viaje de supervivencia. Frances McDormand -- la estrella de “Nomadland’ -- ganó el premio a mejor actriz.
The best actor award goes to Sir Anthony Hopkins for “The Father.”
The best director went to Chloe Zhao for “Nomadland,” Zhao becomes only the second woman to win this category. Kathryn Bigelow previously won the award for “The Hurt Locker” in 2010.
The best supporting actor went to British star Daniel Kaluuya for “Judas and the Black Messiah.” The best-supporting actress prize went to Yuh-Jung Youn for “Minari.”
“Mank,” which led the field with ten nominations, scooped up production design and best cinematography. At the same time, “Sound of Metal” won best film editing and sound.
“Another Round,” directed by Thomas Vinterberg -- a Danish film about four middle-aged white male friends experimenting with alcohol -- won the International feature film award.
