Muchos países se unen para enviar ayuda a Líbano tras la explosión en Beirut

By Jordi Bou

August 6, 2020 - Decenas de países y organizaciones internacionales se han alineado para ayudar a Líbano tras la devastadora explosión en Beirut

The first world leader to visit Lebanon since the explosion, the French President Emmanuel Macron has vowed to convene
an international fundraising conference.

He also called for an international investigation into the explosion “to prevent things from remaining hidden and doubt from creeping in”.

The Lebanese government has said that the explosion was caused by the detonation of ammonium nitrate confiscated from a cargo ship and stored at the port since 2014.

Many want to know why such material was kept for so long, in such an unsafe manner, so close to heavily populated areas.

The blast killed at least 154 people, injured about 5,000 others, and left about 300,000 homeless.
