Por primera vez un filme en lengua no inglesa gana el Óscar a mejor película

February 10, 2020 - “Parasite” es la primera película en lengua no inglesa premiada como mejor cinta en los 92 años de historia de los Premios de la Academia. La sátira de clases sociales de Bong Joon Ho se llevó, la noche del domingo, el primer premio, junto con los de mejor director, mejor cinta internacional y mejor guión.

Joaquin Phoenix won the best actor for his role as a supervillain in “Joker” -- Phoenix’s first Oscar and fourth nomination. Renée Zellweger won the best actress award for her tumultuous performance as Judy Garland in the biopic “Judy.”

Four-time nominee Brad Pitt won his first Oscar as best supporting actor for his role as a stuntman in “Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood.” The supporting actress award went to Laura Dern for her role as an ambitious divorce attorney in “Marriage Story” -- the only award of the night for a Netflix production.

Elton John and songwriting partner Bernie Taupin became Oscar winners for the best original song “I’m Gonna Love Me Again” -- a song they created for “Rocketman.”

Woody, Buzz and Bo Peep did it again in the fourth instalment in the Pixar franchise, with “Toy Story 4” winning the Academy Award for the best animated feature film.

The montage features Sam Mendes-directed war movie “1917”; Robert De Niro and Al Pacino in Martin Scorsese’s “The Irishman”; Todd Phillips in “Joker”; Renée Zellweger as Judy Garland in “Judy”; Cynthia Erivo, “Harriet”; Brad Pitt, “Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood”; Laura Dern, “Marriage Story”; Scarlett Johansson in “Jojo Rabbit” and Kang-ho Song in “Parasite.”
