¿Qué desean hacer los principales partidos del RU en relación con el Brexit?

By Jordi Bou

Prime Minister Boris Johnson, leader of the Conservative Party, wants to implement the divorce deal he agreed with the EU as soon as possible, and then negotiate a long-term free-trade agreement with the bloc from next year.

Jeremy Corbyn, of the main opposition Labour Party, wants to renegotiate Johnson deal so that the UK remains in the EU customs union and retains a “close” single market relationship. The plan would be then put to another public vote.

Jo Swinson, of the Liberal Democrat Party, promises to cancel Brexit altogether if the party wins power at the election. If the party does not win a majority, it will support a second referendum.

Nicola Sturgeon, leader of the Scottish National Party, wants the UK to remain in the EU and supports another referendum. SNP’s ultimate goal is for an independent Scotland with full membership of EU.

Finally, Nigel Farage, of the Brexit Party, wants the UK to leave the EU without a deal and offers the Conservatives an electoral pact if Johnson changes track and backs “clean-break Brexit”.
