Trump signs record number of executive orders in first month

By Jordi Bou

February 20, 2025 - In the month since his inauguration on Jan 20, Donald Trump has signed more executive orders than Joe Biden issued during his first 100 days, pushing the limits of presidential power.

In just one month, President Trump has exceeded expectations - first set out on his campaign trail - by making dozens of executive orders and mass firings across government his top priority.

Trump acted immediately, when he came into power on Jan 20, signing a slew of executive orders on everything from border security to energy policy, and starting trade wars.

Opponents have already begun to file lawsuits in the hope of preventing some of them from coming into effect.
