Dec 8: Taylor Swift’s epic Eras Tour comes to an end

By Ninian Carter

December 8, 2024 - Taking almost two years to complete, Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour ends on December 8 in Vancouver, Canada – the final night of the most lucrative tour in music history.

According to news reports, Taylor Swift has grossed $1.93 billion in ticket sales alone from her Eras World Tour, well ahead of closest rivals Coldplay.

Her tour began at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on March 17, 2023, where local businesses said the economic boost was greater than the Super Bowl which it had just hosted in February.

It comes to end on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at BC Place, Vancouver, Canada after an exhausting 149 shows in 47 cities across 19 countries (not counting three cancelled gigs in Vienna, Austria after police foiled a terror plot).

With many musicians finding it increasingly difficult to earn a living from music sales and streaming, touring is where big money can be earned.

Swift is believed to be exhausted by the tour and plans to take time off in 2025 to relax (and count her many millions of dollars).
