Verstappen clinches fourth successive world title
November 25, 2024 - Red Bull’s Max Verstappen joins an elite club of only six drivers with four or more titles, comprising fellow four-time winners Sebastian Vettel and Alain Prost, Juan Manuel Fangio on five and record holders Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher on seven.
Verstappen made his F1 debut in 2015 for Toro Rosso at age 17 -- the youngest ever F1 driver. Joining Red Bull a year later, he won his first race for the team in Barcelona.
In 2021, he seized his first Formula 1 World Championship with a dramatic final lap victory over Lewis Hamilton, in a contentious climax to their season-long title duel in Abu Dhabi. He then repeated the feat in 2022, before obliterating records in 2023 for most wins (19) and points (575) in single season, establishing biggest title-winning points margin (290).
