October 16, 2024 - Thomas Tuchel has been named new England manager from January 1, 2025. The German coach, who has signed an initial 18-month contract, will lead the national team into the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Tuchel becomes the third non-British manager of the England men’s team after Sven-Goran Eriksson and Fabio Capello. His 11 club honours include winning the UEFA Champions League with Chelsea in 2021, and domestic league trophies with both Bayern Munich (2023) and Paris St-Germain (2019, 2020)

Former coach Gareth Southgate guided England to successive UEFA Euro finals in 2020 and 2024, and fourth place at 2018 World Cup.
