Ukraine may use Storm Shadow missiles to strike Russia
September 13, 2024 - The U.S. and UK are poised to lift restrictions on Ukraine using Storm Shadow missile against targets inside Russia. This may push Moscow’s red lines in the conflict.
Storm Shadow missiles can hit targets up to 250km from their launch site – meaning that they could strike well within Russian territory.
Developed in an Anglo-French collaboration, they are armed with a penetrating warhead capable of destroying hardened and buried targets from long range.
Speaking in St Petersburg, Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a clear warning to the West: don’t allow Ukraine to use your long-range missiles to strike Russian territory.
Moscow, he said, would view that as the “direct participation” of NATO countries in the war in Ukraine.
