Israel’s targeted killings

By Phil Bainbridge

August 1, 2024 - The assassination of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, while not acknowledged by Israel, follows a pattern of targeted killings of its enemies.

The Doha-based militant, said to have been pushing for a compromise in the war between Hamas and Israel which was opposed by his Gaza-based comrades, was reportedly killed by “airborne projectile” after the swearing-in ceremony of the new Iranian president in Tehran

Hezbollah military commander Fuad Shukr, allegedly behind the
attack on Majdal Shams in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights in which 12 teenagers and children were killed, was assassinated by a missile strike in Beirut. In contrast with the former, Israel claimed responsibility for the killing.
