Park Fire continues to rage in northern California
July 30, 2024 - Thousands of firefighters are battling a rapidly growing wildfire in northern California, scorching an area larger than the city of Los Angeles.
The Park Fire is now the 6th largest wildfire recorded in the state, burning in four counties about 100 miles north of Sacramento. It has torn through 373,357 acres – an area slightly larger than the city of Los Angeles.
The fire has destroyed more than 100 structures and is only 14% contained. More than 8,000 have been told to evacuate their homes, the BBC said.
