Russian strikes kill at least 41 in Ukraine, hit children’s hospital
July 9, 2024 - A lethal strike on Kyiv’s main children’s hospital was likely caused by a direct hit from a Russian missile, the head of the UN human rights monitoring mission said on Tuesday.
Two people were killed and at least 16 others injured in Monday’s strike on the Ohmatdyt Children's Hospital – Ukraine's biggest paediatrics facility – and a search for survivors beneath the rubble was completed on Tuesday morning.
The strike in broad daylight was part of a series of attacks that killed at least 41 people across Ukraine, including children. The Kremlin said it was Ukrainian anti-missile fire, not Russia, that struck the hospital.
