A new medal event for both men and women is set to make a splash at the Paris Games with the introduction of Kayak Cross, which sees four athletes racing against one another in a head-to-head on a slalom course, and features physical clashes and a compulsory eskimo roll.

The Paris 2024 Olympic Games feature 32 sports encompassing 329 events – fewer than the preceding Tokyo Olympics, after Baseball, Softball and Karate were axed and some other events lost medal categories.
