Jeddah hosts FIFA Club World Cup 2023

December 12, 2023 - December 22, 2023 - Jeddah hosts the 20th edition of the FIFA Club World Cup. UEFA Champions League holders Manchester City compete in their maiden FIFA Club World Cup, facing six continental champions and a team from Saudi Arabia battling to be crowned Champion of Champions.

The six continental champions are Al Ahly (Africa), Urawa Reds (Asia), Manchester City (Europe), Club Leon (North, Central America and Caribbean), Auckland City (Oceania) and Fluminense (South America). Al-Ittihad, from Saudi Arabia, represents the host nation.

Since the establishment of the tournament in 2000, European teams have won 15 of 19 titles.

The annual FIFA Club World Cup features the champions of the six continental football leagues’ top competitions – CAF Champions League (Africa), AFC Champions League (Asia), UEFA Champions League (Europe), CONCACAF Champions League (North, Central America and Caribbean), OFC Champions League (Oceania) and Copa Libertadores (South America), plus a team from the host nation.
