Israel-Hamas war situation report day 6

By Phil Bainbridge

October 12, 2023 - Electricity and water are running short in Gaza after Israel stopped its supplies to the enclave until all the hostages taken by Hamas are returned.

Israeli air strikes overnight targeted the senior leadership of Hamas, as well as its elite Nakhba force, and a tunnel network which is believed to run from Gaza City to Khan Younis and Rafah in the south.

In the north of the country, Hezbollah and Palestinian miltants in Lebanon fired missiles and anti-tank munitions at IDF positions and attempted to infiltrate the border to capture a town. Israel launched air strikes on Hezbollah military posts in retaliation. Iran-backed militants in Syria launched mortars across the border. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps has called for 1,000 volunteers in the Deir ez Zor Province of Syria for deployment to Israel. The Hamas-backed Lion’s den militia has called for supporters to storm Jerusalem on October 13 as they seek to open other fronts in the war.
