October 23, 2003: The Walt Disney Concert Hall, designed by architect Frank Gehry, opened in Los Angeles. It is the home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra

October 24, 2003: The era of supersonic air transport came to an end as the last ever Concorde flights touched down at London’s Heathrow Airport after 27 years of service

October 25, 1881: Pablo Picasso, one of the greatest artists of the 20th century, was born. Famous works include Les Demoiselles d’Avignon (1907), and Guernica (1937)
