Arsenal complete £105m Rice signing

By Chris Dinsdale

July 15, 2023 - Premier League club Arsenal have signed England midfielder Declan Rice from West Ham United for £105m. Rice becomes only the third player to be bought by an English club for more than £100m.

England’s 32nd Premier League season kicks off August 11, with Champions League qualification, fierce rivalries, title glory or relegation all set to be decided over 380 enthralling matches.

Declan Rice becomes the second most expensive English Premier League signing, at £105m -- Chelsea broke the British record in January with the £106.8m signing of Argentina World Cup winner Enzo Fernandez from Benfica. While Jude Bellingham became the most expensive English player of all time in June, transferring for £115m from Borussia Dortmund to Real Madrid.

Brazilian sensation Neymar retains the World Record fee paid, transferring from Barcelona to Paris St. Germain, for £198m, in 2017.
