FIFA Women’s World Cup host nations

July 20, 2023 - August 20, 2023 - The first World Cup in 1991 featured 12 teams playing 26 matches across four cities. In 2023, Australia and New Zealand will host a tournament expanded to 32 teams competing at nine cities.

FIFA expect to sell record 1.5 million tickets for 2023 tournament, with 100,000 fans attending opening day matches between New Zealand and winners Norway at the 50,000 capacity Eden Park in Auckland, and Australia against Republic of Ireland at the 83,500 Stadium Australia in Sydney.

Last year, the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 smashed European records, with over 570,000 fans watching tournament -- up 139% from 2017.
