Ferrari launch SF-23 car for 2023 season

By Chris Dinsdale

March 3, 2023 - November 26, 2023 - The 74th Formula One World Championship commences with the Bahrain Grand Prix and concludes in Abu Dhabi in November. Ferrari have unveiled their new SF-23 car for the 2023 season, targeting a first drivers’ title since 2007 to quell the recent dominance of Red Bull and Mercedes.

Enrico Cardile, Ferrari head of chassis, states that the SF-23 is “an evolution of the car we raced last year but in reality it has been completely redesigned.” New features include changes to front suspension which switches from low-mounted track rod to higher one, a higher performance engine mode focused on gaining up to 0.2secs per lap, and improved bodywork to increase vertical downforce.

Ferrari last conquered the drivers’ championship with Kimi Raikkonen in 2007, but still lead the overall standings with 15 titles, while McLaren (12), Mercedes (9), Williams (7) and Red Bull (6) all feature in the top five.
