Russian invasion: Situation report day 348
February 6, 2023 - Defence minister Oleksii Reznikov, instrumental in bringing western arms to Ukraine, is to be replaced amidst a corruption crackdown, in a scandal over paying inflated prices in an army food contract.
The first of four Canadian-donated Leopard 2 main battle tanks has arrived in Poland en route to Ukraine. An Iranian delegation visited Russia’s Lobaev Arms with plans to build a factory capable of supplying Moscow with up to 6,000 drones.
The town of Bakhmut in Donetsk has practically been encircled by Russian forces with the two remaining roads now under threat of direct artillery fire, cutting off vital supplies to the Ukrainian troops.
