WTA Tour launches schedule to U.S. Open

By Chris Dinsdale

December 29, 2022 - September 4, 2023 - The partial WTA schedule -- as the tour celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2023 -- features 45 tournaments, including all four Grand Slams and seven WTA 1000 events in Dubai, Indian Wells, Miami, Madrid, Rome, Montreal and Cincinnati.

Only the top eight players who collect the most ranking points over the calendar year will compete in the season-ending Shiseido WTA Finals.

Points that contribute to the Race to WTA Finals ranking are accumulated in the Grand Slams, and the newly revamped WTA Tour (WTA Tour 1000 tournaments, WTA Tour 500, and WTA Tour 250).

Ranking points are awarded for each event -- ranging from 2,000 for the winner of a Grand Slam tournament to 280 for the winner of a International series event.

Key dates:
Jan 16 Australian Open
May 28 Roland Garros
Jul 3 Wimbledon
Aug 28 U.S. Open
