Morocco set for historic World Cup semi-final

November 20, 2022 - December 18, 2022 - At the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, Morocco have become the first nation from Africa to reach the FIFA World Cup semi-finals, beating both Spain and Portugal en route to their historic breakthrough moment.

In the second semi-final, reigning World Champions France take on Morocco, fresh from dispatching both Spain and Portugal, at the Al Bayt Stadium on December 14th.

Previous best performances of African nations at the FIFA World Cup include Cameroon reaching the quarter-finals in 1990, Senegal beating defending champions France in the opening match in 2002, and South Africa hosting the showpiece in 2010.
