FIFA World Cup 2022 Golden Boot

By Chris Dinsdale

November 20, 2022 - December 18, 2022 - France striker Kylian Mbappé scored the first World Cup final hat-trick
since 1966 to win the Golden Boot, one ahead of Lionel Messi, but
ultimately lost out to his Argentinian rival for the World Cup trophy.

Kylian Mbappe, experiencing a turbulent season with Paris St-Germain, opened his FIFA World Cup account with a goal against Australia and a brace versus Denmark, and took his tally to five with another impressive two-goal haul in the Last 16 match against Poland. Lionel Messi, arguably the greatest of all time, became the first person to score in every round of the tournament, with a brace in the final.
