November 29, 2022 - NATO foreign ministers are meeting on Nov 29-30 in Bucharest, Romania pledging “military aid, intelligence sharing and financial support” for Ukraine.
Romania and neighbouring Moldova have been hard hit by the war, with Bucharest alone hosting almost 80,000 refugees. Germany is to chair a side meeting on the energy crisis caused by the war, with the U.S. administration budgeting $1.1 billion for energy aid to Ukraine and Moldova.
According to UN figures, there have been over 17,000 civilian casualties since the February invasion, including 6,655 killed, mostly by wide-area
explosive weapons such as heavy artillery, multiple launch rocket systems, missiles and air strikes. Over 3,950 of the dead were in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
