Situation report day 278
November 28, 2022 - Of a total 7.8 million Ukrainians who have fled the country, mostly to Poland, Germany and the Czech Republic, 4.7 million have registered for temporary protection status, or similar, according to UNHCR.
The U.S. government is currently considering a proposal to supply Ukraine with the Ground-Launched Small Diameter Bomb (GLSDB). GLSDB combines cheap, small precision bombs with the common M26 rocket motor, enabling Ukraine to hit targets as small as 1 metre from around 150km away. Although the U.S. already turned down requests for the ATACMS missile with its 185km range, the GLSDB would bring valuable targets behind Russian lines within range of a Ukrainian counter-offensive.
