UEFA Europa League reaches knock-out stages

November 7, 2022 - The draw for the knockout round play-off in the UEFA Europa League has taken place in Nyon, Switzerland, as the tournament reaches the knockout stages. The UEFA Europa League group stage runners-up and third-ranked teams from the UEFA Champions League play off for the remaining berths in the Last 16.

The 2022-23 UEFA Europa League is the 52nd season of Europe’s secondary club football tournament. The season culminates with the final at the Puskás Aréna, in Budapest, on May 31, 2023.

The winners of the tournament automatically qualify for the 2023-24 Champions League group stage, and earn the right to play against the winners of the 2022-23 Champions League in the 2023 UEFA Super Cup.

Clubs qualify for the competition based on their performance in their national league and cup competitions.
