Situation report day 252

November 2, 2022 - The world must respond firmly to any Russian attempts to disrupt Ukraine's grain export corridor, President Zelenskiy said, as the UN halted grain ships after Russia warned vessels are not safe using the route.

Russia suspended its involvement in the grain accord over the weekend, saying it could not guarantee safety for civilian ships because of an attack on its Black Sea fleet.

Meanwhile, authorities in Kyiv were preparing more than 1,000 heating points throughout the city in case its district heating system is disabled, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said.

Power and water supplies across Ukraine were badly affected after Russia launched dozens of missiles targeting critical facilities on Monday.
