iPhone 14 brings new notification system
September 8, 2022 - Apple’s latest iPhone 14 line-up includes Pro versions which feature the first major display redesign since the iPhone X in 2017 – a pill-shaped cutout used as an innovative new notification system.
Apple has unveiled four new iPhone 14 models with new safety features – emergency satellite connectivity and car crash detection technology.
An interesting feature of the two more expensive Pro models is the replacement of the notch by a smaller pill-shaped cutout at the top of the screen – necessary for the front-facing camera and FaceID scanner.
However, in a clever piece of design, Apple has turned the dead space into a perky animated notification system that pops out graphics to show elements such as music being played, charging status, device connectivity etc.
As well as the new iPhone, the tech giant also presented a rugged Apple Watch Ultra, designed for adventure sports enthusiasts such as mountaineers and scuba divers.
The pre-recorded video event also unveiled new AirPods Pro, with more advanced spacial audio and a new system for finding lost earphones.
