Situation report day 194

By Jordi Bou

September 5, 2022 - Ukrainian troops are advancing in several directions in the western Kherson Oblast and have secured an area across the Siverskyi Donets River in Donetsk Oblast, according to U.S. intelligence.

The pace of Ukraine’s counteroffensive will change daily as Ukrainian forces are working to disrupt Russia’s logistical and military capabilities, experts say.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy thanked his forces for taking two settlements in the south and a third, along with additional territory, in the east, citing “good reports” from his military commanders and intelligence head.

Zelenskiy’s remarks came a day after he warned Europeans that Russia was preparing “a decisive energy blow” during the cold months ahead.
