November 20, 2022 - December 18, 2022 - The FIFA World Cup takes place in Qatar, with 32 teams competing to be crowned World Champions.

Qatar becomes the first Middle Eastern country to host the World Cup, with a vast budget reportedly around $200 billion. The eight stadia, plus training sites and football pitches, cost some $6.5bn alone.
