Situation report day 163

August 5, 2022 - Three more ships filled with grain have left Ukrainian ports under a UN-backed agreement to resume exports of agricultural products through the Black Sea, Turkey’s Defense Ministry said.

Two grain ships set off from Chornomorsk and one from Odesa, with a total of about 58,000 tonnes of grain.

The first grain ship to set sail from a Ukrainian port since the start of the Russian invasion departed Odesa on Monday.

Meanwhile, in the Donbas region, Ukrainian forces have taken advantage of the redeployment of Russian troops to southern Ukraine to regain ground southwest of Izyum and northwest of Slovyansk.

The Russians have reportedly transferred three battalion tactical groups to the northeastern Kherson Oblast and one to Zaporizhia Oblast frontline to defend positions there.
