June 29, 2022 - A Russian missile strike killed at least three people in a residential building in the Ukrainian city of Mykolaiv as the search continued for dozens still missing from an attack on a shopping mall two days ago.
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called on the UN to recognise Russia as a terrorist state after Monday’s strike on a shopping centre in Kremenchuk killed 20.
Further east in Lysychansk in the Luhansk region, Russian forces continue their assault south and southwest of the city.
Separately, Russia-installed officials said their security forces had detained Kherson city mayor after he refused to follow Moscow's orders, Reuters reports.
The Moscow-imposed military-civilian administration in Kherson region said it had begun preparations for a referendum on joining Russia, Russian state news agency TASS reported.
