July 24, 2022 - July 31, 2022 - A women’s Tour de France is set to take place for the first time in 33 years. The eight-day Tour de France Femmes, covering 1,029km, begins on the Champs-Élysées in Paris on the final day of the men’s Tour and finishes in the Vosges Mountains at La Super Planche des Belles-Filles.
The historic race comprises four flat stages, two hilly stages, and two mountain stages. The highest point will be the Grand Ballon (1,336m), which will be crossed during stage 7.
A total of €250,000 will be awarded across the different stage, jersey and team competitions, including €50,000 to the winner of the final general classification.
The original Tour de France Feminin ran alongside the men’s race with the same organisers from 1984 to 1989.
