Ukraine war situation report – day 76
May 10, 2022 - Russian forces pounded the southern Ukrainian port of Odesa with missiles as President Zelensky warns Russia’s blockade of his country’s Black Sea ports threatens global food supplies.
Firefighters battled blazes in Odesa until early hours on Tuesday after Russian missiles hit the city on the day President Vladimir Putin led celebrations in Moscow marking Soviet victory over Nazi Germany in World War Two, Reuters reports.
In Ukraine, there was no let up in fighting, with Russian strikes on targets in the east and south and a renewed push by the Kremlin’s forces to defeat the last Ukrainian troops holding out in a steelworks in ruined Mariupol.
