Earth Day is an event that occurs on April 22 every year, with the purpose of highlighting and supporting environmental protection.

It was first was first held in the United States in 1970, a year after the Santa Barbara oil spill killed more than 10,000 seabirds, dolphins, seals, and sea lions.

It is widely considered to mark the anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement.

The Earth Day 2022 theme is “Invest in Our Planet” and features five primary programs: The Great Global Cleanup, Sustainable Fashion, Climate and Environmental Literacy, the Canopy Project, Food and Environment, and the Global Earth Challenge.
