Stade de France to host showpiece on May 28

February 25, 2022 - The prestigious UEFA Champions League final will now be played at the Stade de France in Paris. The Gazprom Arena, in St. Petersburg, has been removed as host following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The 2021-22 UEFA Champions League is the 30th season of Europe’s primary club football tournament.

Chelsea are defending champions having defeated English Premier League rivals Manchester City in the 2021 final.

Real Madrid are the most successful club in European Cup history, with 13 titles, ahead of AC Milan (7), Bayern Munich (6) and Liverpool (6).

The UEFA Champions League is contested by the highest ranked teams of the strongest UEFA national associations. It is the top club competition in European football and one of the most prestigious tournaments in the world. The Champions League final is the most watched annual sporting event worldwide.
