Ethiopian forces push back against rebels

December 7, 2021 - Ethiopian forces have recaptured the strategic towns of Dessie and Kombolcha from Tigrayan rebels, the latest in a series of battlefield victories claimed by the government.

The announcement by government officials on Monday marks another dramatic twist in the 13-month-old conflict that has killed thousands of people and triggered a deep humanitarian crisis in the north of Africa’s second most populous nation, AFP said.
