By Ninian Carter

February 4, 2022 - February 20, 2022 - The 2022 winter Olympic Games, officially known as the XXIV Olympic Winter Games, take place in Beijing, China.

Freestyle Skiing has been gradually phased into the Winter Olympic programme since 1988, when it was a demonstration sport at the Calgary Games. Moguls became a medal event at the 1992 Albertville Games, followed by Aerials (Lillehammer 1994), Ski Cross (Vancouver 2010) and Halfpipe and Slopestyle (Sochi 2014).

Now, Freestyle Skiing Big Air is being added, making its Olympic debut at the Beijing 2022 Games.

Beijing’s Big Air Shougang is the world’s first permanent Big Air structure, and will be used by the public for recreational sports after the Games.
