Snowboard is one of the newest events in the Winter Olympic programme – first appearing at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan. It has rapidly grown to become one of the most popular sports at the Games.

The Snowboard Big Air event debuted at the Pyeongchang Olympic Games in South Korea, in 2018.

Beijing’s Big Air Shougang is the world’s first permanent Big Air structure, and will be used by the public for recreational sports after the Games.
