Alpine Skiing World Cup calendar

By Chris Dinsdale

October 23, 2021 - March 20, 2022 - The FIS Alpine Ski World Cup is the premier international circuit of alpine skiing competitions, taking place at more than 30 venues in 12 countries. The season begins in Soelden, Austria, and concludes in March at the World Cup finals in Courchevel/Méribel, France.

In March, men’s overall champion Alexis Pinturault became the first French skiier to win an overall World Cup title since Luc Alphand in 1997. Pinturault will aim to defend his title against title favourites including Marco Odermatt (Switzerland), Henrik Kristoffersen (Norway), and Aleksander Aamodt Kilde (Norway).

Women’s overall champion Petra Vlhová became the first Slovak
skier to win an overall World Cup title. She will face competition from Mikaela Shiffrin of the United States, who will vie for her fourth overall title, after winning three consecutive titles from 2017-19.

This season will take a short February break between women’s meetings in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Crans-Montana for the Beijing Winter Olympics, taking place February 4-20.
