UEFA Europa League knock-out stages continue
March 11, 2021 - UEFA Europa League Round of 16 first leg matches include a heavyweight clash between 2017 champions Manchester United and Italian giants AC Milan, returning to form and challenging for both European and domestic silverware 10 years after winning their last Serie A title. The second leg matches take place on March 18.
The 2020-21 UEFA Europa League is the 50th season of Europe’s secondary club football tournament.
Notable ties in the Last 16 also include Olympiacos against Arsenal -- a repeat of their Last 32 clash in 2020 -- Roma versus Shakhtar Donetsk, Villarreal taking on Dynamo Kyiv, and knock-out stage debutants Granada and Molde facing-off for a berth in the quarter-finals.
The season culminates with the final at the Stadion Energa Gdańsk in Poland on May 26, 2021.
The winners of the tournament automatically qualify for the 2020-21 Champions League group stage, and earn the right to play against the winners of the 2020-21 Champions League in the 2021 UEFA Super Cup.
Clubs qualify for the competition based on their performance in their national league and cup competitions.
