March 14, 2018: World renowned physicist Stephen Hawking died aged 76. He was the first to set out a theory of cosmology as a union of relativity and quantum mechanics

March 15, 44BC: Roman Emperor Julius Caesar was stabbed to death in the Senate on the Ides of March by a group of senators led by Brutus and Cassius

March 16, 2011: Bahrain security forces attacked and cleared protesters from the Pearl roundabout in the centre of Manama, which had been the focus of weeks of protest

March 17, 2001: The world’s largest greenhouse opened at the Eden Project in Cornwall, England. Giant biomes recreate different climates and house thousands of plant species
