December 20, 1812: Brothers Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm published their first book of classic German folk tales, including Little Red Riding Hood, and Snow White

December 21, 1620: America’s Pilgrim Fathers disembarked from the Mayflower to establish a settlement at Plymouth, named after the English port from which the ship sailed

December 22, 1895: German scientist Wilhelm Roentgen made the first X-ray image, of his wife’s hand, allowing the inner workings of the body to be observed without surgery

December 23, 2019: Boeing fired its CEO, Dennis Muilenburg, amidst ongoing controversy over two crashes of the Boeing 737 MAX that killed a total of 346 people, and the subsequent grounding of the entire 737 MAX fleet
