The Apple Mac that could set you back $60,000
December 16, 2019 - Prices for Apple’s new “Mac Pro” computer start from $12,000 for the standard unit with monitor, rising to $60,000 for the ultimate set-up.
Apple is selling a new “Mac Pro” desktop computer complete with eye-wateringly expensive optional upgrades that can push the cost upwards of $50,000 (€45,000).
The new machine, built in Texas and not China, retails for $5,999 (€5,400) for specifications that some users would deem low. If you max them out however, you’re looking at a price of $52,599 (€47,200), and that doesn’t even include the monitor – you can add another $6,998 (€6,300) on top if you want the top-of-the-range “Pro Display XDR” and “Pro Stand” too.
The computer’s RAM memory can be upgraded from the standard 32 gigabytes configuration to 1.5 terabytes for a fee of $25,000 (€22,400) – the main reason the price can soar so high.
